No. 4 Penn State battered, beaten by third-ranked Iowa

Spencer Petras threw a 44-yard touchdown pass to Nico Ragaini to complete No. 3 Iowa’s comeback from a two-touchdown deficit, fourth-ranked Penn State’s offense did next to nothing after quarterbac­k Sean Clifford was knocked out in the second quarter and the Hawkeyes held on for a bruising, 23-20 victory Saturday in Iowa City.

The Hawkeyes (6-0, 3-0) took control of the Big Ten West with their 12th straight win and thrust themselves into the College Football Playoff conversati­on.

Penn State (5-1, 2-1) lost for the first time in 10 games and headed back to Happy Valley with a list of injuries.

Oklahoma 55, Texas 48

In Dallas, Kennedy Brooks ran for 217 yards and two go-ahead touchdowns in the fourth quarter, including a 33-yard romp with 3 seconds left, as the sixth-ranked Sooners (6-0, 3-0 Big 12)topped the Longhorns (4-2, 2-1) to win the Red River rivalry.

Oklahoma benched starting quarterbac­k Spencer Rattler in favor of Caleb Williams, who threw for 212 yards and two TDs. Oklahoma appeared to be trying to set up for a game-ending field goal when Brooks instead broke free for a sprint to the end zone to complete a rally from 21 points down.

Michigan State 31, Rutgers 13

In Piscataway, Jalen Nailor caught touchdown passes of 63, 63 and 65 yards from Payton Thorne as the No. 11 Spartans (6-0, 3-0 Big Ten) used their big-play offense to remain unbeaten against the Scarlet Knights (3-3, 0-3).

Georgia 34, Auburn 10

In Auburn, Ala., Stetson Bennett passed for 231 yards and two touchdowns and led the No. 2 Bulldogs (6-0, 4-0 SEC) past the No. 18 Tigers (3-2, 1-1).

Michigan 32, Nebraska 29

In Lincoln, Neb., Jake Moody hit a 39-yard field goal with 1;24 remaining to lift the No. 9 Wolverines (6-0, 3-0 Big Ten) over the upset-minded Huskers (3-4, 1-3).

Boise State 26, BYU 17

In Provo, Utah, Hank Bachmeier threw for 172 yards and the Broncos (3-3) forced four turnovers in a 26-17 upset, even as the No. 10 Cougars (5-1) outgained their unranked foes, 413-312.

Mississipp­i 52, Arkansas 51

In Oxford, Miss., Sam Williams and Tavius Robinson pressured Arkansas quarterbac­k KJ Jefferson on a potential game-winning 2-point conversion and No. 17 Ole Miss (4-1, 1-1 SEC) held on for a wild win against the 13th-ranked Razorbacks (4-2, 1-2) after allowing a touchdown on the final play.

Arkansas scored on a 9-yard pass from Jefferson to Warren Thompson as time expired to pull within a point and decided to go for the win.

Notre Dame 32, Virginia Tech 29

In Blacksburg, Va., Jonathan Doerer kicked a 48-yard field goal with 17 seconds remaining, capping a dramatic rally as the No. 14 Fighting Irish (5-1) nipped the Hokies (3-2).

Wake Forest 40, Syracuse 37 (OT)

In Syracuse, A.T. Perry caught a 22-yard pass from Sam Hartman for his third touchdown of the game, and the No. 19 Demon Deacons (60-, 4-0 ACC) rallied past the Orange (3-3, 0-2) in overtime.

Fordham 54, Wagner 7

In The Bronx, Tim DeMorat threw for 339 yards and four touchdowns to lead Fordham (3-3) over Wagner (0-6), which got a 2-yard TD run by Jaalon Frazier.

Columbia 22, CCSU 20

In New Britain, Conn., Dante Miller scored on a 65-yard run with 5:38 remaining in the game and Columbia (3-1) held off Central Connecticu­t (1-4).
