Kim still appears to go West

-

KANYE West was sitting front and center for Kim Kardashian West’s opening monologue on “Saturday Night Live” — and, according to onlookers, the two seemed close — but the rapper immediately left the audience after she joked about his personality

Multiple “SNL” sources told Page Six that Kanye, 44, left the audience shortly after the opening, in which Kim, 40, proudly introduced herself as “Kim Kardashian West.”

Kim addressed her divorce from Kanye during her monologue, first calling him “the best rapper of all time,” before noting that he’s “the richest black man in America, a talented legit genius who gave me four incredible kids.”

But she continued, “So when I divorced him, you have to know it came down to one thing — his personality.”

Insiders told us Kanye got up and went backstage immediately after the monologue. One source explained, “Kanye had been at all the rehearsals, so for sure he knew what to expect, but perhaps it was too much?”

Meanwhile, another source insisted that West — who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2017 — didn’t storm out because he was upset about the comment on his character, but rather he left to hang out with the cast, including his friend Chris Rock, backstage.

Ahead of Kim’s “SNL” debut, Page Six revealed that Kanye had been helping her with her hosting duties. He had been with her at a series of writing rooms and rehearsals last week, as well as advising her on her fashion choices for the NBC show.

The pair had recently sparked rumors by spending more time together again, supporting each other’s work — including her appearances at his “Donda” album listening events — and dining together in LA before both jetting to New York.

Following Saturday’s show, Kim threw a private after-party at Soho hot spot Zero Bond for the “SNL” cast and close pals, but Kanye was notably absent. Reps didn’t comment.
