Another injury nags Golladay

- By PAUL SCHWARTZ

ARLINGTON, Texas — It is getting difficult to keep track of everything that has kept Kenny Golladay off the field.

The Giants’ big-ticket free agent receiver did not play in the second half of Sunday’s 44-20 loss to the Cowboys after he hurt his knee in the first quarter. Golladay said he hyperextended his knee when he collided with cornerback Trevon Diggs, tried to play through it but finally had to give in to the discomfort.

“The pain got worse,’’ Golladay said.

Early in his Giants’ career, it is always something with Golladay. He missed most of his first training camp with his new team with a strained hamstring. He missed time in practice once the season started, with a hip issue, then a groin issue and now he has a knee issue.

Before he left the field for good, Golladay was targeted three times, and did not have a catch.

➤ DL Leonard Williams was called for a personal foul penalty late in the game when he tried to rip off the helmet of RB Tony Pollard . … LT Andrew Thomas, listed as questionable with a foot injury, was active for the game after passing a physical test during pregame warm-ups. He did not play, though. Coach Joe Judge said the plan was to put Thomas on the field only if he was needed in an emergency.

➤ Rookie CB Rodarius Williams was forced out with a knee injury. Williams was the No. 1 slot corner for the Giants. … The Giants started their fifth different offensive line in five games, this time needing to replace Thomas as left tackle. Veteran Nate Solder moved from right to left tackle — his natural spot — and Matt Peart came off the bench to start at right tackle. Wes Martin, signed off Washington’s practice team late last month, replaced Matt Skura at left guard in the second quarter. Martin became the fifth player the Giants have used at left guard in six games.
