Driver ‘hits’ cop and K-9

A teenage driver was busted for striking a New Jersey cop and his K-9 while attempting to flee a traffic stop, authorities said.

Three Atlantic City detectives were conducting car stops in Atlantic City on Tuesday night when they spotted a Ford Fusion that had previously been reported stolen.

K-9 Officer Anthony GrajalesPrado and his pooch partner, Chase, joined in to assist.

The driver, Kasauhn Carpenter, 18, ignored commands from the officers and sped up toward GrajalesPrado and Chase, authorities said.

Grajales-Prado was struck by the fleeing Fusion and ended up on the hood before being thrown off. Chase, too, was struck. Both are doing OK.
