Prop markets went haywire in crazy finish

The Bills and Chiefs delivered on all the hype Sunday night. If bettors missed the end, they might have been surprised when they opened their sportsbook account in the morning.

Three lead changes, one tie and a walkoff win all happened with 1:54 left in the fourth and into an improbable overtime win for the Chiefs, 42-36, who advanced to the AFC Championship game where the Bengals await.

The Bills and Chiefs combined for 28 points in the fourth quarter, including 25 in the final 1:54 of regulation. With each team completing unlikely comeback after comeback, multiple bets paid off in the back-and-forth battle.

The end result was a Chiefs win and cover. Like much of the postseason, the spread didn’t matter in the end as Kansas City covered every number from 1.5 to 2.5. Teaser bettors on both sides went home happy. But there’s so much more than that. Those betting player props felt the wrath of the final two minutes the most.

With 1:54 left in the game, Josh Allen found Gabriel Davis on fourth-and-13 for a 27-yard score. The ensuing twopoint conversion pushed Buffalo ahead 29-26. As many predicted, that left Patrick Mahomes and Co. too much time.

Just 40 seconds later, Tyreek Hill found the end zone on a 64-yard passand-catch to put the Chiefs back on top 33-29. Needing a touchdown, Allen delivered again, finding Davis for a 19-yard score with just 13 seconds remaining and a 36-33 lead.

Bills moneyline bettors and those taking the few points all rejoiced. But two plays were all Mahomes needed to get Kansas City into field-goal range for Harrison Butker to force overtime from 49 yards out to tie the game at 36.

In overtime, Allen never saw the ball as Mahomes and the Chiefs marched down the field for the game-winning touchdown to Travis Kelce less than five minutes into the extra period.

While MaximBet offered the Chiefs at +3300 (33/1) to win with 13 seconds left and no bettors locked it in, tickets started to sprinkle across social media taking a shot on the last-second comeback.

Here are some notable bets that cashed in the final 1:54 of regulation plus overtime:

● Tyreek Hill anytime touchdown hit with 1:13 left in the fourth.

● Travis Kelce had 53 yards with 13 seconds left. His 25-yard catch to set up the field goal went over his 70.5 receiving prop. He finished with 96 yards total.

● Kelce’s overtime touchdown cashed his anytime TD prop. It was the secondmost-bet prop at BetMGM in the game.

● In overtime, Mecole Hardman caught a pass for 26 yards to finish with two catches and 31 yards. His receiving yards prop was 29.5.

● Gabriel Davis, the first player with four receiving touchdowns in a playoff game, had 86 yards in the last 1:54 of regulation, giving him 201 for the game. That was the most receiving yards of the weekend, cashing any props in that market.

● Patrick Mahomes’ touchdown passes prop was 2.5. He threw his third of the game in overtime.
