Sapphire’s ‘tarnished’ host

-

THERE’S no security (in the Champagne Room), it seems.

It sounds like the dancers at Sapphire need to get themselves some barbed wire jewelry and have their pasties custom-fitted with mace because Page Six hears that the strip club has hired Cuba Gooding Jr. — yes, the very same Cuba Gooding Jr. who just pleaded guilty to forcibly touching women — to host a party next month where one has to imagine there will also be nearly naked women.

And, to add insult to injury, the bash is set to happen at the club’s location in Times Square — the very same neighborhood where Gooding harassed the first of the three accusers he was called to answer in court.

We at Page Six remember a more innocent era of strip clubs when guys who touched women without permission got a complimentary meet-and-greet with the bouncers, not a paycheck.

In 2020, the Oscar winner was charged with three counts of forcible touching after he was accused by one woman of grabbing her breast at the Magic Hour Rooftop in Times Square in 2018, and two other women said he’d touched them inappropriately in Manhattan bars in 2019.

In the end, he pleaded guilty to the third accusation. If he attends counseling and doesn’t get in trouble for a year, his conviction will be downgraded from a misdemeanor to a violation. If he screws up, he could go to jail for a year.

In the meantime, he’ll be spending time at church and committing himself to charity work . . . Wait, no, sorry. In the meantime he’ll be ogling women in Manhattan bars, except this time he’ll be on the clock.

Perhaps Sapphire can also hire Matthew Broderick to run the valet and put Travis Scott in charge of crowd control.

While the club is showing Gooding Jr. the money, when asked to comment on the odd choice of host, a Sapphire rep didn’t respond.
