Hadid a hit on Cali tax list
MOHAMED Hadid, whose Bel Air, Calif., mansion was just razed, is on the latest State of California Franchise Tax Board’s Top 500 delinquent taxpayer list.
Hadid is named on the biannual list as owing $243,143.66 to the government.
The real estate developer — also known as the dad to world-famous models Gigi and
Bella Hadid — has recently raised eyebrows over his financial status.
His multimillion-dollar Bel Air megamansion was razed this week after years of legal trouble. The home, dubbed the Starship Enterprise, was precariously poised atop a hill and did not meet certain city approvals.
In 2019, a judge declared it a “clear and present danger” to neighbors and ordered it to be torn down. However, he argued that he did not have the $5 million in funds to raze the property, which he’d initially hoped to sell for $100 million. The lend went for $5 million at auction earlier this year.
The Post reported in April that Hadid “appears to have lost tens of millions of dollars in construction loans, and owes millions more to a host of builders.”
Also on this year’s tax-delinquents list is
Terrence Howard, who has been a continued favorite of the IRS. The “Empire” actor owes $255,715.72.
In 2019, he was reportedly under investigation for criminal tax evasion. Additionally, he has been hit with tax liens three times over the previous years.
New to the list is James H. Buss, a partial owner of the Los Angeles Lakers, who owes $232,022.47.
Tax delinquents past who’ve presumably made good include 2021 list-makers Courtney
Love, Steven Seagal and “Reservoir Dogs” actor Michael Madsen. Reports said Madsen had declared bankruptcy in 2009, with court docs showing he owed director Quentin Tarantino $1 million and former James Bond
Pierce Brosnan $25,000.
