A mayor in Australia is facing mounting calls for her resignatio­n after she drunkenly crashed her car — just one hour after meeting with the families of drunken-driving victims.

Mayor Karen Williams of Redland, just outside of Brisbane, apologized for her behavior, admitting to having “several drinks.”
