It just goes with the flow. An uninhabite­d island in a river that separates France and Spain changes which country it belongs to every six months. Pheasant Island, located in the Bidasoa River, is part of Spain from Feb. 1 to July 31 and France from Aug. 1 to Jan. 31.

The island is only open to the public on days when it switches countries, and it can be reached by foot from Spain at low tide.

Scientists think dark matter makes up most of the universe, but they have no clue what it is.

A mile deep into the Earth, they’re hoping they have a better chance of finding it, and have built a special lab beneath the town of Lead in hopes of catching the elusive and puzzling material.
