How I met your mover
IN Netflix’s “Uncoupled,” Neil Patrick Harris (below) stars as a newly single real estate broker hustling for upscale relationships — and listings, as he gives viewers a tour of some prime city digs. In real life, Harris and his husband, the actor and chef David Burtka (below) — who has a minor role on the Netflix show — have just sold their Harlem townhouse for $6.99 million, sources tell Gimme Shelter exclusively. That marks a neighborhood record, and a substantial return on their investment. The couple bought the townhouse for close to $3.6 million in 2013. The fivestory property at 2036 Fifth Ave. first hit the market last August for $7.3 million. Built in 1908, it’s a spacious 8,000 square feet and comes with moldings, millwork, three fireplaces and a restored wood staircase.
New details — the home was updated by New York architect Jeffery Povero and LA designer Trace Lehnhoff — include a secret door that hides a hidden office on the top floor. There’s also a top-ofthe-line chef ’s kitchen that played its own starring role in Burtka’s cookbook, “Life is a Party.” Outside, there are more than 2,000 square feet of terraces, gardens and decks — including a landscaped and irrigated roof deck, with a grill and a dining table under a wood pergola. The home has served as a happy place for Harris, Burtka, and their fraternal twins Gideon and Harper, 11. But they have been spending so much time in the Hamptons since the pandemic that they decided to downsize in the city, sources say. The listing brokers for their home were Vickey and Pacey Barron, of Compass.
