NCAA: Uiagalelei enters portal

Clemson quarterbac­k DJ Uiagalelei ,a former five-star recruit, is expected to enter the transfer portal according to 247 Sports. Uiagalelei has been a two-year starter but was benched after the first two possession­s by head coach Dabo Swinney in the ACC Championsh­ip game Saturday night. Backup quarterbac­k Cade Klubnick threw for 279 yards and two touchdowns in No. 10 Clemson’s 39-10 victory over North Carolina.

Justyn Mutts scored 27 points to lead Virginia Tech to an 80-72 victory over No. 18 North Carolina on Sunday in Blacksburg, Va., as the former top-ranked Tar Heels have now lost four straight.

NBA: Alvarado nets career night
