Seattle morgue overrun by ODs
Seattle’s morgue is reportedly running out of room for bodies, which are piling up from fentanyl overdoses.
Space issues have become so acute at the Seattle-King County morgue that officials are considering keeping bodies on gurneys and partnering with funeral homes for storage as stopgap measures.
“They have finite space in the coolers they use, and that space in now being exceeded on a regular basis,” county Public Health Director Dr. Faisal Khan said last week, according to KTTH radio. He expects the city’s 2022 fentanyl death toll to be over triple that of 2019.
