Iran: ‘Time running out’

Ominous barbed warn

- By MELISSA KOENIG

Iran’s foreign minister warned in an ominous X post Wednesday that time is “running out” for Israel, as experts grow concerned about a potential third world war.

Hossein Amir-Abdallahian shared the chilling message after hundreds died Tuesday in a missile strike at a Gaza City hospital, which US and Israeli intelligence show was caused by a failed rocket launch by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad militant group, and not by Israel as Hamas claims.

“After the terrible crime of the Zionist regime in the bombing and massacre of more than 1,000 innocent women and children in the hospital, the time has come for the global unity of humanity against this fake regime more hated than ISIS and its killing machine,” Amir-Abdollahian wrote.

“Time is OVER!”

The Iranian Embassy in Syria also posted “time is up” in both Hebrew and Arabic.

The troubling message came days after Amir-Abdollahian warned that a regional network of militias dubbed the “axis of resistance” would open “multiple fronts” against Israel if it continued to kill civilians in Gaza.

“Time is running out very fast,” Amir-Abdollahian said during a live interview with Iranian state TV Monday night, The New York Times reported.

“If the war crimes against the Palestinians are not immediately stopped, other multiple fronts will open and this is inevitable.”

The latest warning came after the deadly airstrike at the AlAhli Arab Hospital in Gaza. Israel blamed the carnage on Islamic Jihad.

“An enemy rocket barrage was carried out towards Israel, which passed in the vicinity of the hospital when it was hit,” IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagari said.

Tehran fault lines

Still, Iran was quick to condemn Israel for the attack, with Nasser Kan’ani, a spokesman for the country’s foreign ministry, calling it a “savage war crime” and an instance of “genocide.”

Iran’s threats have caused some to become concerned that if Iran escalates in Gaza, it could bring Russia into the conflict.

Russian officials spoke out against the hospital attack, with foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova saying that Israel must provide satellite images to prove it was not involved.

Ray Dalio, the billionaire Bridgewater hedge funder who doubles as a financial historian, warned on LinkedIn that if the conflict spreads to “major countries, there will be a much more horrific hot World War.”
