Media Suckers for Hamas

-

It really shouldn’t need repeating, but the tale of the Gaza hospital explosion again shows: Don’t. Believe. Hamas. The terror group claimed Israel had leveled Al-Ahli Arab hospital with an airstrike, eliciting outrage from around the world as its allies screamed war crime and the media rushed to prop up Hamas’ story.

Now, after a frenzied stretch of Israelblaming, hard evidence shows that 1) the hospital was not leveled but just had its parking lot hit by a rocket and 2) the rocket was fired by Palestinian Islamic Jihad, not Israel.

But don’t take our word for it! The IDF has released audio of two Hamas operatives saying, quite literally, that the rocket is “from us” — i.e. Islamist combatants trying to destroy Israel.

We’re not sure why any reputable journo ever believed Hamas in the first place. This is a paramilitary terror group that beheads babies, rapes women and massacres peaceful ravers. It also regularly sees its own rockets and missiles fall short and kill Gazans.

Of course its leadership is going to lie amid the fog of war to maximize its propaganda advantage when an errant shot from brothers-in-arms wreaks accidental havoc.

Especially when that lie concords with the larger narrative that global media love to spread about Israel, i.e. that it’s an oppressive colonial state and egregious human rights violator.

Yet the list of news orgs that reported the lie as fact includes The New York Times, MSNBC and many others.

As well as Israel-haters in Congress like Reps. Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib.

Funny: These same useful idiots spent years haranguing the public about utterly fake “disinformation”; now they’ve helped spread a lie that will likely get people killed, as this false propaganda triggers fury across the Arab world.

It’d be ironic if it weren’t such an outrage.
