Bx. home-flippin’ ‘faker’ busted

- Katherine Donlevy

A Bronx woman was busted Monday for allegedly stealing a home from a dead man who had the same name as her deceased father — then selling the property and splurging on jewelry and a car.

Mercedes Tiffany King, 35, was hit with a slew of charges for the alleged scheme that landed her more than $350,000.

King sunk her claws into the East 219th Street and Bronxwood Avenue home in Williamsbridge in April 2020, a little more than three years after dad Edward King Jr. died.

The split-family home, valued at $675,000, belonged to the recently deceased Edward L. King, who had no relation to King or her father.

But King allegedly claimed she was the heir to the property and sold it for $480,000.

Using the funds, she treated herself to a shopping spree that included a 2021 Audi Q8 for $50,000, the filing states. She was arrested last Tuesday.

King faces charges including grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and forgery.

Her bond was set at $300,000. She is due back in court Dec. 7.
