Eagles will cruise past Tommy Cutlets and Co.

What looked like an invincible Eagles team proved to be an 11-week illusion.

Philadelphia went from 10-1 and Super Bowl favorites to losing three straight games and now possibly not even winning the division.

With that skid, Jalen Hurts took a steep slide down from being the MVP favorite, and that’s the volatile nature of the NFL for you.

Granted, schedule-makers saved the reality check for late in the Eagles’ the season. The 49ers and Cowboys are formidable contenders while the Seahawks are chasing a wild-card spot.

The Giants head into Philadelphia on Christmas Day with not nearly as much to play for — other than pride, I suppose. The market has a short-term memory, pushing the line for this game to 13.5 following a 24-6 Big Blue loss to New Orleans. That’s all it took to demolish any respect Tommy DeVito had built from the three-game win streak.

The Giants posted their fourth game without a touchdown and DeVito was sacked seven times. Giants quarterbacks have now been sacked 76 times through 14 games, which is the secondmost in NFL history.

The Eagles don’t have the tightest secondary, but they will be coming at DeVito with the No. 11-ranked pressure rate.

Philadelphia remains the best fourthdown conversion team in the league and is No. 3 in third-down rate — both of which are areas the Giants struggle to defend against and were a principal reason for the loss to the Saints.

This is a “get-right” game back at home for coach Nick Sirianni’s Eagles. Experiencing adversity can be weaponized when preparing for the playoffs. Some positive regression should begin for Philadelphia after both sides of the ball have been a wreck as of late.

If this was last year, I’d have more faith in a Giants rebound — they went 7-0 ATS following a SU loss. They are 3-5 this season. Add in the fact they still rank second-to-last in points differential at minus-149 and are last in overall DVOA.

The Eagles are in for a sleigh ride this Christmas, and Tommy Cutlets’ appearance fees should see a discount in the New Year.
