Maxwell back to running rings

-

GHISLAINE Maxwell was photographed looking disheveled doing laps in a Florida prison yard recently. But we hear she had good reason to be pooped!

Turns out the British socialite turned inmate was running in her women’s prison’s half-marathon. The race at the barbed wireencircled FCI Tallahassee included 19 inmates who ran 52 times round the prison’s track to cover 13.1 miles.

No word on Maxwell’s time or if she made the podium. Her attorney Arthur Aidala told us the warden put the event together as “one of the warden’s jobs is to make it livable.” Besides distance running, he said that Maxwell is also doing “yoga and pilates” as she preps for her appeal March 12.

The powerhouse lawyer surmised, “She looked great, she really did. Typically, my clients who are incarcerated for an extended period gain a lot of weight . . . Their diet in prison is primarily carbohydrates.”

Maxwell, 62, is in federal lockup serving a 20year sentence for sex trafficking. Besides all the exercise, life in prison is anything but cushy.

“Even as a visitor, going to prison is terrifying,” said Aidala, who recently met with Maxwell for six hours to discuss her appeal.

Maxwell — who was convicted in 2021 of recruiting and grooming young women and girls to be sexually assaulted by Jeffrey Epstein — is doing her best to help Aidala. She arrived to their meeting with “2½ feet of paperwork,” he said. “She knows her case inside and out.” Her legal team will argue that her case should be tossed.

In the meantime, the Oxford-educated daughter of late press baron Robert Maxwell has also been helping women in prison with their cases. “She speaks four or five languages,” said Aidala. “A lot of women in [the prison] only speak Spanish,” and Maxwell has become “an interpreter, in terms of helping them read their court documents . . . She’s clearly very popular . . . and is making the best of a horrible situation.”
