NCAA: No. 1 Houston survives

L.J. Cryer scored 19 of his 25 points in the second half to lift No. 1 Houston to a comefrom-behind 67-59 victory over UCF in Orlando, Fla., to clinch at least a share of the regular-season Big 12 title.

⬤ In Milwaukee, Alex Karaban scored 23 points to help No. 2 UConn defeat No. 8 Marquette, 74-67.

⬤ In Columbia, S.C., Dalton Knecht scored 26 points and No. 4 Tennessee beat No. 17 South Carolina 66-59 to wrap up its first SEC regular season title since 2018.

⬤ In Ames, Iowa, Tamin Lipsey scored 19 points to help No. 6 Iowa State defeat No. 20 BYU 68-63 and remain unbeaten at home.

⬤ In Amherst, Mass., Josh Cohen had 19 points in UMass’ 66-64 victory against Fordham. Kyle Rose recorded 15 points, five assists and three steals for Fordham.

⬤ In Fairfield, Conn., Tahron Allen led Wagner with 22 points as they took down Sacred Heart 60-57 in the NEC quarterfin­als.

⬤ In Syracuse, N.Y., Luke Sutherland had 22 points in Le Moyne’s 82-61 win against Fairleigh Dickinson in the NEC quarterfin­als.

NBA: Warriors rout Bucks

Stephen Curry scored 29 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the Warriors handed the Bucks their first defeat since the All-Star break, 125-90 in San Francisco.

⬤ In Los Angeles, De’Aaron Fox scored a game-high 44 points to lead the Kings to a 130-120 victory over the Lakers.

⬤ In Portland, Ore., Oklahoma City forward Bismack Biyombo appeared to collapse while standing in front of the Thunder bench during the second quarter of a 128-120 victory over the Trail Blazers. After a lengthy delay, Biyombo was helped off and headed for the locker room.

⬤ Franz Wagner scored 28 points as the Magic rallied from a 21-point, first-half deficit to beat host Washington 119-109, handing the Wizards their 16th consecutiv­e loss.

⬤ In Atlanta, Saddiq Bey scored 23 points and the Hawks recovered after losing a 21-point lead to beat the Cavaliers 112-101.

⬤ In Houston, Kawhi Leonard scored 28 points and the Clippers rallied from a 20point deficit to defeat the Rockets 122-116.

NFL: Bills release Poyer, others

The Bills got salary cap relief Wednesday by releasing five players, including All-Pro veteran safety Jordan Poyer and center Mitch Morse. Two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Tre’Davious White is also being released, according to multiple reports.

ETC.: U.S wins penalty shootout

Goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher made three saves in the penalty shootout and scored also in the shootout to help the U.S. win 3-1 in penalty kicks over Canada in San Diego, and advance to the CONCACAF W Championsh­ip Sunday night against Brazil.

⬤ Rafael Nadal pulled out of the BNP Paribas Open on Wednesday night, a day before he was supposed to play his first official match in two months. Nadal posted the news on social media and did not state why he withdrew. The 37-year-old missed nearly all of last season because of a hip injury that required surgery.
