Biden’s State of the Union: A Nightmare of an Address

THE ISSUE: President Biden’s annual State of the Union address where he laid out his 2024 campaign.

- letters@nypost.com

I’ve got to hand it to President Biden: He didn’t disappoint me as he delivered his State of The Union speech, I expected a plethora of lies — and he delivered (“Biden’s ‘taxing’ State of Union,” Mar. 8).

I expected him to go to the theater of the absurd by blaming former President Donald Trump for the catastrophic border situation instead of admitting that he created it in its entirety, and he delivered. I expected him to blather about “American taxpayers not paying their fair share,” and he delivered.

He also didn’t mention that he doesn’t plan to pay taxes on the millions that his crime family has taken in, which was surely an innocent oversight. Myron Hecker

Thursday, during President Biden’s State of the Union, as well as Sen. Katie Britt’s Rebuttal, I was thrilled to hear both her and Sen. Marjorie Taylor-Greene express outrage at the murder of Laken Riley at the hands of a migrant (“Rising Republican star Katie Britt shreds Biden on border, rising costs in SOTU rebuttal,” Mar. 8).

I just wish Britt and the rest of the Republican Party would show such outrage at the hundreds of mass shootings, many of which are in schools, that occur every year. Jeffrey Meyer

During his speech, Biden mistakenly stated that “Lincoln Riley” was murdered by an illegal and that his heart breaks for her. Does his heart break for other young Americans murdered and raped by illegal migrants?

If so, he could have taken executive actions within his authority to stem the tide of illegal immigrants,

His State of the Union address shows that President Biden is not as slow and fragile as we thought.

On the other hand, Donald Trump once declared his followers so stupid that he could murder someone on 5th Avenue and they would still vote for him. He could be convicted of dozens of felonies, and yet twothirds will still vote for him.

President Biden disrespects his followers differently. He waltzed into the Middle East and was responsible for killing many civilians on Gaza’s main street, and then threw a band-aid on the situation by promising to build a boat dock to drop off some apology food aid. He then believes that every American is as bloodthirsty a killer of Muslims as him.

While both candidates are quite lively, neither is good for America.

President Biden’s speech was polarizing, divisive and played to leftists’ unbridled hatred

for Trump and the millions of Americans who voted for him. Biden is a cantankerous man who for the good of our nation should retire from politics. Gerald Jacobs

President Biden was a totally different person from the doddering, tongue-twisted fellow we’ve previously seen. Melanie Coronetz Manhattan

Biden, in his case for a second term, finally laid out the stark contrasts between himself and Trump.

If Americans want women to have control over their own bodies, tighter gun control, higher taxes on the rich, environmentally friendly policies and health-care reform, then Joe is your man.

I was always taught that when taking the wheel, shifting to D would propel me forward, while R would take me into reverse. I know which direction I would rather be going.

Biden delivered the State of the Union address like a screeching sanitized Sam Kinison on the campaign trail.

He blamed “my predecessor” Trump for all of his administration’s calamitous policies — particularly the border, which Biden could have fixed with a presidential pen-stroke. And he mispronounced the name of nursing student Laken Riley, brutally murdered by an illegal migrant — seemingly confusing her with football coach Lincoln Riley. Susan Silver Manhattan
