Saquon daughter: ‘Gonna win now?’

Saquon Barkley’s family is starting to embrace being on the other side of the GiantsEagles rivalry.

In a new video shared Wednesday by the Eagles’ social media team, Barkley — who agreed to a threeyear deal worth up to $37.75 million with the Giants’ loathed foe in free agency this month — recalled the moment he shared his signing news with 5-year-old daughter Jada, who clearly has been taking stock of the NFC East standings.

“She knows there’s a lot of history in my career with the Eagles,” Barkley said. “When I told her that we’re going to be going to Philly, she kind of was just like, ‘Does that mean we’re going to win now?’ And I just started smiling again and I was like, ‘Hopefully, hopefully we can win some more games.’ ”

The Eagles have won 16 of the past 20 matchups between the rivals and have a 94-89-2 record overall against Big Blue.

Barkley’s lone playoff appearance with the Giants came in the 2022 season and ended with a 38-7 loss to the Eagles, who were on their way to the Super Bowl. However, it was the Giants who won the most recent meeting, a 27-10 victory last Jan. 7, as Philadelphia continued its second-half collapse in 2023.

Both the Eagles and Giants are looking to turn the page on what was a disappointing year.

Philadelphia lost six of its final seven games — the one win coming in Week 16 against the Giants — after getting off to a 10-1 start. Their season ended with an embarrassing 32-9, wild-card loss to the Buccaneers in January.

Barkley, the two-time Pro Bowl running back, issued a farewell message to the Giants and their fans on social media last week as his sixyear run with the team came to a close.

“The last three days have been a whirlwind of emotions, but I wanted to take a minute and acknowledge all the Giant fans that have supported me and my family over the last six years,” Barkley wrote.

“The fans in New York and New Jersey will forever hold a place in my heart . ... Ultimately the NFL is a business, and I hope that everyone can respect my decision.”

Barkley will now begin a new chapter in Philadelphia with his family — which includes longtime girlfriend, Anna Congdon, Jada and son Saquon Jr., 1.

Barkley and Congdon welcomed Jada just days before the 2018 draft, when the Giants selected Barkley with the second-overall pick.
