How the Prez Helps Hamas
Rep. Ritchie Torres is absolutely right about Hamas’ rejection Tuesday of a yet another cease-fire offer: “The hyperbolic and hysterical demonization of Israel — from fair-weather friends — makes Hamas feel emboldened to continue rejecting ceasefires and continue holding the hostages captive,” the Bronx Democrat tweeted.
The terrorists could’ve ended this war the week it began by sending the captives home. But Hamas doesn’t care about Gazans’ lives.
That the group still feels comfortable holding hostages even as its leaders reject deal after deal after deal gives the lie to the squeals from the pro-Hamas caucus.
If Reps. Jamaal Bowman, Rashida Tlaib and other pro-terror Dems really wanted Israel’s war against Hamas to end, they’d’ve demanded from Day 1 and at the top of their lungs that Hamas release the hostages with zero preconditions. But what they truly crave is the destruction of Israel.
The White House’s alignment with this fringe element explains why Hamas thinks it can win a permanent cease-fire, and so survive and rebuild to again slaughter innocents.
Families of American hostages have rightly called out the Biden team’s failure to meaningfully pressure Hamas to release the hostages. In response, the prez just sent Vice President Kamala Harris to meet with those families.
Joe himself met with some hostage families early in the war, before Israel’s fight for its life became inconvenient for him. Now he’s comfortable palming the families of Americans off on the veep.
Even as the White House desperately sues for a dishonorable peace with the terrorists.
It’s a disgrace; bravo for Torres and his crystal-clear vision.
