EPA PUBLIC NOTICE
Newark Site now part of Superfund List
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announces the listing of the Newark South Groundwater Plume Site to the National Priorities List (NPL), a list of sites eligible for long-term remedial EPA will (cleanup) action financed under the federal Superfund program. This Site was proposed to the NPL in August 2017 and EPA held a public information session that same month. The next steps in the Superfund process will be a full investigation of the Site and the contamination.
Community Involvement – We want to meet you!
EPA will be preparing a Community Involvement Plan (CIP), a Site-specific roadmap to inform and engage the community in the Superfund process. To develop the CIP, EPA conducts community interviews, in person or over the phone, with residents, local and elected officials, and other stakeholders to gather information, identify key community needs, concerns, and questions. If you are interested in being interviewed, please contact us at one of the numbers below.
