Small Business Saturday: All day Saturday, in downtown Newark. Many downtown merchants will offer sales and deals. The
Grinch will visit businesses and greet customers starting around 10 a.m. Parking is free all day.
Winter bazaar: Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Newark United Methodist Church, 69 E. Main St. Bazaar will feature numerous local crafters, small business owners and baked goods. Benefits Newark
Methodist Preschool. NHS all-class reunion: Saturday, 6 to 10 p.m., at Newark Country Club, 300 W. Main St. All Newark High School alumni are welcome. $15 admission includes light fare. Cash bar.
Histor y museum event: Sunday, 2 to 5 p.m., at the Newark History Museum, 429 S. College Ave. (under the railroad bridge). The Newark History Museum will be open for one last day before closing for the season. A musician will perform, and light refreshments will be served. Free.
City council meeting: Monday, 7 p.m. at city hall, 220 S. Main St. Council will consider eliminating the parking validation subsidy, changing management positions and pay grades, a new shoplifting law and an emergency services fee on building permits.
Winterfest: Friday, Nov. 30, 6 to 8 p.m., on the Academy Lawn. Annual event features a Christmas tree lighting, music, roasted chestnuts and an ice-carving demonstration. Free.
Reindeer Run: Friday, Nov. 30, 7 p.m., at the Aetna fire station on Academy Street. The 5K utilizes downtown Newark, the University of Delaware campus and the James F. Hall Trail and raises money for Special Olympics Delaware. $30. Register at www. sode.org.
