Windy Hills Lu­mi­nary Night: Satur­day, 6:30 to 9 p.m., in the Windy Hills neigh­bor­hood off Capi­tol Trail. As part of the com­mu­nity’s unique an­nual tra­di­tion, the streets will be lined with lu­mi­nar­ies (small can­dles in white pa­per bags), and many houses will be dec­o­rated with hol­i­day lights. Rain date is Sun­day.

Hol­i­day con­cert: Satur­day, 7:30 p.m., at Kirk­wood Li­brary, 6000 Kirk­wood High­way. The First State Ringers bell choir will per­form Christ­mas songs. Free.

Christ­mas Eve ser­vice: Mon­day, 6 p.m. and 10 p.m., First Pres­by­te­rian Church of Ne­wark, 292 W. Main St. Hang­over Helper 5K: Tues­day, Jan. 1, 10 a.m., Olan Thomas Park, 89 Pa­per

First Day hikes: Tues­day, Jan. 1, 1 p.m., at White Clay Creek State Park. Park staff in­vites com­mu­nity mem­bers to start off 2019 with a hike out­doors.
