Perkasie’s cree till Brew­ing Co. opens its doors patur­day

Due to the drawn-out li­cens­ing process needed to open a brew­ery, Free Will Brew­ing Co., founded in 2010, wasn’t able to sell beer un­til Jan­uary 2012.

Now, it is happy to open its doors Satur­day, Aug. 18 from noon to 4 p.m. for the pub­lic to en­joy tast­ings and tours of the brew­ery. Growlers of their Ci­tra, Pale Stout and Destiny’s Wit va­ri­eties will also be for sale ($5 for the growler, $10 for the beer; cash only).

Free Will Brew­ing Co. is lo­cated at 410 E. Wal­nut St., Perkasie, and has been act­ing as a pro­duc­tion brew­ery to pro­duce beer for sale at lo­cal bars and restau­rants.

Do­minic Capece, a 1998 gradu- ate of Soud­er­ton Area High School, and John Stem­ler, a 1996 grad­u­ate of Pen­nridge High School, founded the brew­ery in 2010.

Cur­rently, their beer is avail­able on tap at sev­eral lo­cal bars and restau­rants, in­clud­ing the Perk, the Wash­ing­ton House and The Horse Tav­ern and Grill.

“TKLs Ls WKH firsW WLPH wH FDn bring in the pub­lic and show off what we’ve been do­ing,” Capece said. He added that a lot of peo­ple have tried Free Will Brew­ing Co.’s beers at lo­cal bars and restau­rants and are cu­ri­ous to see where it comes from.

This open house acts a kick­off to what Capece said he be­lieves will be bi-monthly open houses and Satur­day tour days. The duo wanted to com­plete ren­o­va­tions of a tasting sta­tion be­fore they opened up the es­tab­lish­ment to the pub­lic, they said..

“This way peo­ple can en­joy the beer sep­a­rate from where we ac­tu­ally brew the beer,” Capece said.
