Dublin Borough to host three-day centennial celebratio­n this weekend

The Philadelph­ia Funk Authority will kick off three days of music, food, cars and fireworks this weekendas Dublin Borough celebrates its 100th birthday.

‘We’re planning a memorable celebratio­n with events planned for all ages that weekend as we celebrate the past while looking to the future” said Dublin Mayor Christophe­r Hayes.

In addition to live music, the weekend bash will include a 5h Run, “Decades of Dublin” parade, two cars shows, street and arts festivals, kids activities, food, vendors and fireworks.

“We may be small as a mu- nicipality but we’re thinking big for this celebratio­n,” said Nick Rosica, president of borough council. “We put a lot of energy into creating a great, family event to celebrate the last 100 years.”

Due to the 100th Anniversar­y Celebratio­n activities, Route 313 (Main Street) will be closed from Rickerts Road to Elephant Road/Maple Avenue on Saturday, September 8 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Parking will be available at the Dublin Firehouse, the Dublin TEC Center and 120 Mill Street (from Cherry Lane).

Friday, Sept. 7 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.: The Philly Funk Authority performs at the Dublin Fire House

Saturday, Sept. 8 8 a.m. to noon: Pancake Breakfast at the Dublin Fire House

9 a.m.: 5h Run/1-Mile Fun Run (starts at the Dublin Fire House)

9:45 a.m.: 1-Mile Fun Run begins at the Dublin Fire house

9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 7 p.m.: Tours of Historic hooker’s Store and St. Luke’s UCC

1 to2 p.m.: Decades of Dublin Parade along Maple Avenue and Main Street

2 to 8 p.m.: Street Festival/ Arts Festival with live music and entertainm­ent

2 to 4 p.m.: Philly Rock & Soul performs at the Dublin Fire House

2 to 3 p.m.: Loch Ronnoch Pipes & Drums performs at the Dublin TEC Stage

3:30 to 4:30 p.m.: Al Angelo performs on the Dublin TEC Stage

4 to 8 p.m.: Antique Car Display on Main Street

4:30 to 6:15 p.m.: Bill Clinton performs at the Dublin Fire House

5 to 6:30 p.m.: Lolly hopwood and the Let’s Play Bunch entertain children on the Dublin TEC Stage

6:45 to 8:30 p.m.: Could Have Been Huge performs at the Dublin Fire House

7 to 8:30 p.m.: Cherry Lane Band performs on the Dublin TEC Stage

8:30 p.m.: Awards Ceremony and Fireworks Display at the Dublin Fire House All Day Saturday

(2 to 8 p.m.) Greassy area next to Manor Drive: inflatable­s, track- less train, alpaca petting and family games

Up and Down Main Street : DJ at First Savings Bank, face painter, juggler, magician, hids ID Truck, Bucks County Radio Truck, balloon artists, show cars, food, local businesses, and vendors.

Sunday, Sept. 9 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Arts Festival and hooker’s Store tours

10 a.m. to 5 p.m.: 11th Annual Cystic Fibrosis Car Show at the Dubin Fire House
