Indians have no answers for Adams

- By Kev Hunter

Seven times Friday night, the Souderton Area defense hemmed in Central Bucks South running back Josh Adams and tackled the elusive sophomore for negative yardage.

But the other 23 times Adams carried the football, the 6-foot-1, 180-pound speedster broke away for 195 yards and four touchdowns, including a 56-yard score Rn WKH vHry firsW SODy IrRP scrimmage.

Add to that a pair of TD passes by Titans quarterback John Pileggi and South’s offense was nearly unstoppable on a muggy night at Titans Field, as South earned a 44-28 win over the Big Red in a Suburban One Continental Conference contest.

“A lot of plays, we stopped (Adams), but on a lot of plays, they certainly got the better of us,” Big Red coach bd Gallagher said. “He still ran through a lot of tackles -- he’s a really good football player. We’ve been better in the secondary -- we struggled a little bit tonight with coverage, but a good quarterback and good receivers will do that to you.”

Jarrett Reinhard’s twoyard plunge brought Soud- erton (3-2, 1-1) within 35-28 with 53 seconds to play in the third quarter, but South got some breathing room when bvan Stahl’s 22-yard fiHOG JRDO sSOLW WKH uSrLJKWs to cap the Titans’ (5-0, 2-0) opening drive of the fourth, making it 38-28.

A false start by Souderton on fourth-and-1 led to an incompletion on fourth-

to end the Indians’ next drive, and a roughing-the-kicker call against the Big Red extended South’s ensuing possession, which sealed the contest with a 10-yard touchdown pass from Pileggi to Steve seal.
