Crusaders rally past North Penn

BUynnH 7DyORU finLsKHG with 16 kills, three digs and two aces as the Lansdale Catholic girls volleyball team stayed undefeated Wednesday night, taking the finDO WKUHH JDPHs IURP 1RUWK Penn to win the non-league match 3-1 (23-25, 25-23, 2518, 25-14).

“We really pulled together as a team and worked really, really hard to get everything and go for everything,” Taylor said. “We worked hard and we passed the test.”

Alicia Kradzinski had 11 kills, while Chelsey Dutkiewicz and Kerry Duggan each had seven kills for the Crusaders (11-0, 8-0 Philadelph­ia Catholic League), wKR UDOOLHG IURP HDUOy GHficit in the second game to tie the match, then held off the Maidens (9-4, 7-3 SOL Continenta­l) in game three.

“We have a lot of tools to go to,” LC coach Joann Pisch said. “So, if they stayed with our big middle, we went to the outside. If they stayed with the outside, we went to the right side.”

Stephanie Elechko paced North Penn with 12 kills. Courtney Gill and Isabelle Kerr both had eight kills.

“We kind of knew where we were at, too, we’re a good team. It’s just that we have to SODy OLNH LW IRU fiYH JDPHs,” Maidens coach Bryan vost said. “And that’s been our struggle. We haven’t been DEOH WR SODy fiYH JDPHs DW D high level of intense volley-

ball.”

After LC took a 2-1 lead in the match, the Crusaders had little trouble in the fourth game as they jumped out to a 12-6 advantage. Lansdale Catholic sealed the fourgame victory with an ace by Dutkiewicz.

Dutkiewicz also had 10 digs and two aces, while Kradzinski collected nine digs and an ace for Lansdale Catholic. Kaitlyn Kushman fiQLVKHG wLWK 27 DVVLVWV, fiYH kills and a pair of aces.
