Sheva takes second at states
A dream season for Marissa Sheva continued in Hershey at the PIAA Cross Country Championships.
For the North Penn girls, a solid pack carried them to a VLxWK-SODFH fiQLVK.
Sheva — one week after taking second in the District One Championships — was only topped by Unionville’s Courtney Smith at the Class AAA Championship. The 3HQQULGJH VRSKRPRUH fiQish in a time of 18:36, with Smith won gold in 18:16.
The Maidens took sixth overall behind a pack of freshman Phoebe Clowser (24th, 1V:3V), Melanie Vlasic (32nd, 1V:5V), Court- ney Kern (33rd, 1V:5V), Ali Valenti (38th, 20:08), Jenna Reimer (53rd, 20:30), Janki Patel (71st, 20:53) and Brianna Mengini (82nd, 21:08).

For the Bucks, Emory GULIfiQ OHG WKH wDy wLWK D 14WK-SODFH fiQLVK LQ 19:12. Also for CB West, Maddie Villalba (15th, 1V:13), Meghan Iatarola (27nd, 1V:41), Gretchen Krause (37th, 20:07), Lindsey Gerlach (48th, 20:23), Shelby Bingaman (7Vth, 21:05) and Keelan McDonald (80th, 21:07) set the pace.
In the 2A girls, Emma Keenan helped the Monarchs take 10th with 282 points. Keenan was 18th overall with a time of 20:13. Also for GMA, Allie Flint (44th, 20:51), Emily DeGrandpre (67th, 21:27), Tara Webster (76th, 21:3V), Sydney Hirokowa (77th, 21:40), Caroline Dennin (V4th, 22:23) and Sally McDonough (103rd, 22:43) were a tight pack.
