Garrett Shoemaker

darrett “Alan” Shoemaker, age 75, died Nov. 24, 2012, after his battle with cancer.

Alan was born July 10, 1937, in Sellersville, Pa., at drand View Hospital. He lived in his home in dreen Lane for 45 years. He was the son of the late darrett H. and Margaret Harr Shoemaker. Alan graduated from Souderton High School in 1955 and played trumpet in the high school band. He graduated from Drexel Uni- versity with a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering in June 1965 and then worked DW fiUPV LQFOUGLQJ Philco Ford and Vishay.

Alan was a longtime active member of the National RiflH AVVRFLDWLRQ DQG the Lions Club. He also owned and operated a successful fiUHDUPV EUVLQHVV LQ dreen Lane, Shoemaker’s Hillside dun Shop, and enjoyed the VSRUW RI WDUJHW VKRRWLQJ, fiUHDUP repair and safety course instruction. He loved sports and was an excellent skier and tennis player. He loved his farm, which he acquired in 1967, and lived there for the rest of his life. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent most of his days chopping wood and maintaining his beloved home.
