April also brought the pronouncem­ent by Heckler that Perkasie Borough Council broke the Sunshine Law in March when it held a closed door executive session to discuss the possible sale of borough property and offering a special electric rate to the buyer, but that no chargHs sKRuOG EH fiOHG EHFDusH LW was an “innocent mistake” that occurred after council had been told it was allowed to have the discussion in private. The council and its attorney said changes would be made to provide more informatio­n to the public, but that other attorneys interprete­d the Sunshine Law rules differentl­y than Heckler had, and that under that interpreta­tion, the rules had not been broken.

In October, the Archdioces­e of Philadelph­ia said Lansdale Catholic High School will remain where it is and not move to Hilltown, as had previously been planned.

In November, journalist Jane Pauley was the speaker, JLYLnJ D firsW-SHrsRn DFFRunW of dealing with mental health issues, at Penn Foundation’s annual autumn event, held at Calvary Church. November also brought the return – for a day – of trolley rides between Perkasie Historical Society’s museum, located in the restored century-old former Perkasie trolley station, and the Sellersvil­le Museum.

In August, the Pennsylvan­ia Supreme Court sided with the tax collectors in D ODwsuLW fiOHG Ey WKH 3Hnnridge and Central Bucks tax collectors after the school boards in the two districts slashed tax collector salaries in 2009. In December, the Pennridge board agreed to pay a total of $83,231 to the eight Pennridge tax collectors for three years back pay.

December also brought the reopening of Perkasie’s skate park in Lenape Park after it was moved back to its original location.
