The IFRA World Pub­lish­ing Expo will re­turn to Ber­lin, Ger­many, on Oct. 9 for a three-day event that will fo­cus on the lat­est in printed pub­lish­ing so­lu­tions. The tradeshow and con­fer­ence will be held in con­junc­tion with the DCX Dig­i­tal Con­tent Expo, which will high­light the cre­ation, dis­tri­bu­tion and mon­e­ti­za­tion of dig­i­tal con­tent.

More than 3,000 pub­lish­ing ex­ec­u­tives from 100 coun­tries will at­tend the events, which will fea­ture more than 170 ex­hibitors cov­er­ing the range of the pub­lish­ing in­dus­try, ac­cord­ing to or­ga­niz­ers.

New are part­ners FIPP, a Lon­don­based trade as­so­ci­a­tion for global me­dia, the World As­so­ci­a­tion of Mag­a­zine Me­dia, and Google’s Dig­i­tal News In­no­va­tion Fund.

The Start- up Park has its own stage and space for net­work­ing. The Print In­no­va­tion Awards and ex­hi­bi­tion ar­eas for con­tent ser­vices and vir­tual re­al­ity will also be on tap in Ber­lin.

ABB will high­light its au­to­ma­tion and in­te­grated work­flow sys­tems for the news­pa­per in­dus­try. ABB’s sys­tems cover dig­i­tal work­flow, roll sup­ply, press au­to­ma­tion, mail­room and dis­tri­bu­tion up to the plan­ning and track­ing of the en­tire pro­duc­tion chain. Agfa will show­case its new Avatar V-ZH plate, which does not re­quire pre-heat­ing. The plate will be avail­able world­wide early in the fourth quar­ter of this year. It will also show its next gen­er­a­tion of no-bake, lon­grun ther­mal print­ing plates, the ECO ³ . EAE ( Engi­neer­ing Au­to­ma­tion

Elec­tron­ics) will fea­ture con­trols, au­to­ma­tion so­lu­tions and soft­ware for news­pa­per print­ers. EAE’s so­lu­tions are be­ing used in all ar­eas of a news­pa­per print­ing plant — from pre­press to the mail­room.

New ProI­mage Amer­ica will demon­strate its soft­ware prod­ucts for the news­pa­per pub­lish­ing in­dus­try and will fea­ture work­flow man­age­ment, print pro­duc­tion and color man­age­ment so­lu­tions.­

News­cy­cle So­lu­tions is a Min­nesota-based provider of soft­ware and ser­vices for the global me­dia i ndus­try. I n De­cem­ber 2017, it brought on Ac­quire Me­dia and its NewsEdge line of con­tent ag­gre­ga­tion soft­ware. In Fe­bru­ary of that year, it ac­quired Me­dia Ser­vices Group, whose Elan line of prod­ucts fo­cuses on the mag­a­zine and book pub­lish­ing in­dus­tries. In July, In­fo­maker joined the team with a suite of ed­i­to­rial con­tent man­age­ment so­lu­tions.
