Residents of this jungle city watch as firefighters battle a massive blaze on December 17. Six hundred homes were consumed, forcing more than 2,000 people to flee. No deaths were reported. Authorities suspect a kitchen accident involving a pressure cooker triggered the fire, which spread quickly through rows of wooden houses built on stilts to avoid seasonal floods.
