Sun Worshippers
A person performing as the Coya, wife or queen of the Inca Empire, arrives at Sacsayhuaman Archaeological Park during the celebrations of Inti Raymi—or the Feast of the Sun—on June 24. The Incan religious ceremony is held annually to carry on the mighty pre-columbian empire’s tradition of marking the winter solstice in the Southern Hemisphere and paying tribute to the sun.
