Pets feel like royalty over adoption weekend

- From the Humane Society of Berks County

Homeless dogs, cats and critters from all across the land will transform from paupers to princes and princesses when they are adopted during the Humane Society of Berks County’s Royally Purple Free Adoption Weekend! From Friday, May 19 through Sunday, May 21, adoption fees have been generously paid for by an anonymous benefactor.

The sponsor, who does not wish to be named, has always loved animals and has even considered becoming a veterinarian.

“It’s most important to the donor that as many animals as possible find loving homes,” says Mary Keller, Marketing Manager at Humane Pennsylvania. “We are at our maximum in the shelter and kitten season is fast approaching. This free adoption weekend could not have come at a better time, and we thank this donor for stepping in to ensure these animals receive their ‘happily ever afters.’”

Adoptions include Humane Pennsylvania’s 30Day Adoption Health Guarantee, spaying or neutering (prior to adoption), vaccinations and microchip registration. Normal adoption policies still apply.

Purple – the sponsor’s favorite color – signifies royalty, so all pets will feel like kings and queens of their new castles during this special adoption weekend! To view the many adoptable animals at the HSBC, please visit humanepa.org/adoption or visit the shelter during scheduled operating hours.

The HSBC is located at 1801 N. 11th Street, Reading, PA 19604. For more information about this noble promotion, please call 610921-2348 or email adoptreading@humanepa.org.
