Thrills, squeals & ferris wheels headline great family fun in 2017 Kutztown Fair

Fearless Flores will stun and awe audience daily with high flying acrobats

Thrill of racing and riding more than 20 different rides, squeals of laughter and the sounds from the barns, coupled with music from eight different bands will fill the Kutztown Fairground­s. For $10 a person, you can enjoy all the rides, the musical entertainm­ents, the Fabulous Flores Thrill Show, visit the barns and thousands of arts, crafts, and homestead entries. It is Berks County’s best entertainm­ent value.

An expanded Children’s Day is Saturday, and this year the fair has added a scavenger hunt in addition to the new build a LEGO item, and craft events. Plus the farm on the farm is free and open all week long. All children that are on the grounds are eligible for the free door prize drawing held in the Music Stage area.

If your youngster is willing to put their energy to the test, the Pedal tractor pulls hosted on Thursday evening is free to enter and prizes are awarded. Sign up that night in the Show Ring, the pull off will start at approximat­ely 8:30.

Racing will fill the grandstand. All races are included in the price of admission except for the Wednesday night premium races, guests will need to pay an additional fee to see those races at the grandstand entrance.

On the Stage bands and entertaine­rs from across the region will belt out their favorite tunes and entertain audiences with two nightly shows. The Music Stage will highlight sounds to thrill all generation­s and age groups.

The Fearless Flores will stun and awe the audience with daily performanc­es. These high flying acrobats will perform two times each day and three times on Saturday on the midway.

Steve Moyer Subaru is doing a Subaru Loves Learning at the fair, having 12 cars, giveaways, goodies and prizes at the fair.

Don’t forget the food. The Kutztown Fair boasts some of the greatest fair food in the state. The Lions Club Dutch Fries, steak sandwiches that melt in your mouth, the Grange has burgers, funnel cake, fries and apple fritters, plus you can find blooming onions, corn pie, grilled Lebanon bologna sandwiches. If you are really hungry visit the Fair Restaurant for a wonderful buffet and all-youcan-eat offers. In the restaurant you can sit down and watch the fair visitors wander by.

It’s the best value around, all rides, entertainm­ent and music plus the chance to see and pet hundreds of animals and see thousands of handcraft items made by local craftsmen. All of this is only $10 per person, parking is $2 per car, and there is an additional fee to watch the Wednesday night races.

Looking for some local flavor, visit the beer garden. There is nightly entertainm­ent from local bands and a karaoke night as well.
