Four inducted to Fleetwood Hall of Fame
Fleetwood High School Sports Hall of Fame inducted four new members on Wednesday, Dec. 27.
The inductee group includes highly successful athletes who excelled in a variety of sports. Stephanie Barnett was a Regional All-American and All-State player in soccer. She set numerous soccer records at Fleetwood. She was also an All-County field hockey player.
Tyler Mayer was an All State soccer player and Berks scoring champion in 1992. He went on to play at Syracuse University and was a Mid-Atlantic All American. Upon graduation he played on several professional soccer teams. Tyler also participated in baseball, track, and crosscountry.
Ingrid Hekman was the winner of 12 varsity letters. She was an All-Berks field hockey player, All-Division in basketball, and district qualifier in the triple jump. She played Division I field hockey for James Madison University.
Jim Boyer was an All-Division soccer player, All-Division basketball player, and outstanding player on the tennis team. He played varsity soccer at Kutztown University.
The event featured a social and presentations, as well as guest speaker Mary Hill. The former Fleetwood coach in multiple sports, Hill began the middle school field hockey program and was the first varsity track coach. She also coached field hockey at Kutztown University.
