Resonate: An exhibit of watercolors by Sandy Wood
The Mennonite Heritage Center, 565 Yoder Road, Harleysville, announces the exhibit of watercolors by area artist Sandy Wood that will be on display from Sunday, Jan. 28 through Saturday, March 17. An opening reception with the artist is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. The snow date for the reception is Sunday, Feb. 4.
The exhibit: “Resonate” represents her interpretation of nature through, as she says, her own lens. With her delicate watercolors, she captures the joy of pattern and color and texture found in the natural world she sees. Sandy prefers to draw her inspiration from real world observation rather than imaginative sources.
Sandra Lee Wood has spent most of her life as a well-known and award winning art educator. She is a world traveler with several of her trips settling in one place to paint plein aire. Since retiring she has been able to study watercolor and pastels with nationally known painters who have helped her to continue her journey.
The Mennonite Heritage Center is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 am to 5 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm. Admission is by donation. For directions and information, see www.mhep.org or call 215256-3020.
