Tucker and Coats honored as Rotary’s Students of the Month
Award recognizes high school seniors
Kutztown Area High School senior Brady Tucker and Brandywine Heights High School senior Amelia Coats were honored as the Kutztown Rotary Club’s Students of the Month in ceremonies at the Kutztown Tavern Jan. 3.
The award is presented monthly during the school year to seniors at the two high schools based on the recommendations of their guidance counselors.
Tucker, son of Audrey and Michael Tucker, of Mertztown, is the vice president of the National Honor Society, on the varsity soccer, basketball, baseball and golf teams, the County Chorus and has been the vice president of the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade classes.
He has attended the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Conference, The Rotary Club Camp Neidig Leadership Camp and the MANNA program at Kutztown’s Grace Church.
During the summers he works for Kehm’s Lawn Mowing Service and during this school year, he is working as an intern with the Kutztown Patriot.
Coats, daughter of Patricia Walsh Coats and Rob Coats, of Fleetwood is in the National Honor Society, the Tri-M Honor Society, The Brandywine Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and Women’s Ensemble. She has been a participant in the District Choir, the Senior County Choir and the Junior County Choir. Coats received second place in the “An Artistic Discovery: The 15th Congressional District Art Competition,” in 11th grade.
In the community, she is a member of the Tinicum Civic Association and has received a fellowship with the Pennsylvania Democratic Society.
She is employed by Riverview Gardens and Gifts.
