Cham­ber an­nounces Board Of­fi­cers for 2018

Dustin Adam, John L. Scott, and Heather Uczyn­ski be­gan a one-year term on Jan. 12

The North­east Berks Cham­ber of Com­merce, Kutz­town, an­nounces new of­fi­cers for 2018. Pres­i­dent Dustin Adam, Ed­ward Jones, Fleet­wood; 1st Vice Pres­i­dent & Trea­surer John L. Scott, Com­mu­nity First Fund; and Heather Uczyn­ski, Lead­ing Edge Busi­ness Con­sult­ing, Leesport be­gan a one-year term on Jan. 12.

Dustin Adam is a Ham­burg na­tive who be­gan work­ing for Ed­ward Jones in 2013 after grad­u­at­ing with a BS in math­e­mat­ics and com­puter sci­ence from Le­banon Val­ley Col­lege. Ini­tially, Adam worked at the Ed­ward Jones Head­quar­ters in St. Louis, MO, man­ag­ing branches in tran­si­tion for a year be­fore re­turn­ing home to Berks County to open his own branch in 2014. His of­fice is lo­cated on the Main Street of Fleet­wood. Within his firm, Adam acts as a Growth Leader re­gion­ally, as well as a men­tor and a field trainer.

Lo­cally, Adam is in­volved with the Huguenot Ma­sonic Lodge and has been in­volved with the Ham­burg divi­sion of the Jaycees. He serves in a di­rec­tor role at the Len­hartsville Fish & Game As­so­ci­a­tion. Re­cently, Adam co-founded an out­door or­ga­ni­za­tion called Berks County Bow­men. His ac­tive par­tic­i­pa­tion within the North­east Berks Cham­ber has in­cluded roles as di­rec­tor and as mem­ber of the Fi­nance Com­mit­tee, Busi­ness De­vel­op­ment Task Force, Mem­ber­ship Com­mit­tee, and the Am­bas­sadors.

John L. Scott is cur­rently Vice Pres­i­dent of Com­mu­nity Lend­ing for Com­mu­nity First Fund in North­ern Berks, Le­high, and Northamp­ton coun­ties. Scott has more than 15 years of fi­nan­cial ser­vices ex­pe­ri­ence, in­clud­ing po­si­tions with PNC Bank, San­tander Bank, and Cit­i­zens Bank. Scott lives by the motto, “do unto to oth­ers as you would have them do unto to you.” His hope is that he can as­sist the com­mu­nity in grow­ing and pros­per­ing by help­ing all peo­ple and or­ga­ni­za­tions achieve their fi­nan­cial goals.

Be­sides his 10-year ac­tive mem­ber­ship in the North­east Berks Cham­ber, Scott is also a mem­ber of the Al­len­town West Ro­tary Club, where he serves as Foun­da­tion Chair and is Wor­ship­ful Mas­ter at Huguenot Lodge No. 377 F&AM in Kutz­town. He also vol­un­teers for Live Learn & Play, an Autism sup­port and sen­sory gym lo­cated in the South Mall in Al­len­town

(Board mem­ber). Prior to this, he served as Pres­i­dent of Kutz­town Com­mu­nity Part­ner­ship and was also a past board mem­ber of the Tri-Val­ley YMCA branch board in Fleet­wood. From 2013-2016, he served on the Au­dit Ad­vi­sory Com­mit­tee for Lower Ma­cungie Town­ship.

Scott stud­ied busi­ness and fi­nance at Kutz­town Univer­sity. He is also a 20112012 fel­low for the Cen­ter for Pro­gres­sive Lead­er­ship where he stud­ied lead­er­ship de­vel­op­ment.

Scott is a na­tive of the Le­high Val­ley and is en­joy­ing rais­ing his son Whit­man and daugh­ter Ad­dysen with his wife Mercedes in Up­per Mil­ford Town­ship, Le­high County. His hob­bies in­clude elec­tron­ics tin­ker­ing, pho­tog­ra­phy, as­tropho­tog­ra­phy, web­site de­vel­op­ment, camp­ing, trav­el­ing and spend­ing time with fam­ily and friends.

Founder of Lead­ing Edge Busi­ness Con­sult­ing, Heather Uczyn­ski is a busi­ness psy­chol­o­gist and ex­ec­u­tive coach. She holds an un­der­grad­u­ate de­gree in Speech Broad­cast­ing from Penn State and a grad­u­ate de­gree in Coun­sel­ing Psy­chol­ogy from Kutz­town Univer­sity.

Uczyn­ski helps or­ga­ni­za­tions solve em­ployee is­sues that can in­ter­fere with pro­duc­tiv­ity and prof­itabil­ity, such as high turnover, in­ex­pe­ri­enced man­agers, and work­place con­flicts. She has de­vel­oped ex­per­tise in the field of Emo­tional In­tel­li­gence, which helps her to ad­vise or­ga­ni­za­tions on hir­ing and pro­mo­tion de­ci­sions. For nearly eight years, Uczyn­ski has been ac­tively in­volved in the North­east Berks Cham­ber, es­pe­cially in sup­port of fundrais­ing ef­forts and com­mit­tees, in­clud­ing Shin­ing Star, Casino Night, and the 1st Cham­ber Dinner, and Mem­ber­ship and Am­bas­sadors. Cur­rently, she is serv­ing her sec­ond year as Board Sec­re­tary.

The mis­sion of North­east Berks Cham­ber of Com­merce is to be a re­source and a voice for its mem­bers (and those who are not yet mem­bers) in North­east Berks County. Mem­ber­ship cur­rently numbers 245.
