Lila Lydia Eyer-Hemerly, 98, of Grant, MI passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018. She was born on June 8, 1919 to Edward and Mamie (Wink) Long in Kempton, PA.

She was an avid vegetable and flower gardener, her flower gardens were worthy of magazine cover displays. Lila was very proud of her family’s heritage of military service to our country, she crocheted lap robes for the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans until she was 95 years old. She loved her cats and her rock collection.

Lila was sassy, spunky, and stubborn and she will be greatly missed by her family that adored her.

Lila is survived by her son Warren (Delores) Eyer, her daughter Phyllis (George) Eyer-Atwood; her step-children: Earl (Linda) Hemerly, Joyce (Rick) Zapf; her step-daughterin-law Betty Hemerly; 41 grandchild­ren, 42 greatgrand­children and 45 great-great-grandchild­ren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Philip Eyer, her second husband Earl Hemerly, her stepson Gary Hemerly, and her grandson Shawn.

A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the St. Bartholome­w Catholic Church. Visitation will be held Friday, January 26, 2018, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at the St. Bartholome­w Catholic Church with a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM with Father Pete Schafer officiatin­g. Burial will take place in the Hillside Cemetery east of Grant.
