March 29: Remember when churches used to be open to pray, anytime of the day or night? Huff’s Union hopes to rekindle this tradition on the Thursday of Holy Week, May 29. From 4:30-6:45 p.m. We will have soft acoustic music of hymn tunes playing and a church decorated to remind us of Jesus’ Lenten journey in which you may stop, meditate, and pray. If you’d like

a special private prayer with the pastor, Rev. Jane Kropa will be ready to pray for you. Those who believe in Jesus as savior are welcome to receive Holy Communion, and will hear the story of Jesus’ last meal with his disciples prior to his arrest, trial, and crucifixion.

You are welcome to take home a small booklet containing the Holy Week gospel according to St. Mark. If you would prefer a group communion service, we offer a brief service at 6:45, which includes scripture, a hymn, and communion. You may bring a gift for our local food pantry, and leave it near the altar, if you wish. In this way, we continue feeding our community, after being nourished by Christ’s holy meal.

March 30: Good Friday worship service at 7 p.m. Using 5 meditations developed by Churches together in Britain and Ireland in partnership with the BBC, we meditate, pray, remember, and hear the story of Jesus’ final days before his crucifixion and resurrection.
