March Stu­dents of the Month

Ryan Miller

Ryan is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Todd Miller of Blan­don. Ryan has signed a let­ter of ac­cep­tance to at­tend North Carolina Cen­tral Univer­sity on a base­ball schol­ar­ship. Ryan is in­volved in the fol­low­ing clubs at Fleet­wood Area High School: basketball, base­ball and Rho Kappa So­cial Stud­ies Honor So­ci­ety. In ad­di­tion, he was a mem­ber of the 2017 Home­com­ing Court. Ryan re­ally ad­mires his teacher Mr. Mark Coas­solo. Ryan states Mr. Coas­solo is an in­spi­ra­tional teacher and he en­joys ev­ery mo­ment in his class.

Ni­cole Hipp Ni­cole is the daugh­ter of El­iz­a­beth Tobin-Hipp of Fleet­wood and Robert Hipp of Den­ver. Ni­cole’s fu­ture plans in­clude at­tend­ing Penn State Univer­sity and ma­jor­ing in Po­lit­i­cal Sci­ence with a con­cen­tra­tion in pre-law. Ni­cole has been in­volved in the fol­low­ing clubs/ac­tiv­i­ties at Fleet­wood Area High School: Stu­dent Coun­cil, Fu­ture Busi­ness Lead­ers of Amer­ica (FBLA), Year­book, Book Club, Re­lay for Life, Rho Kappa So­cial Stud­ies Honor So­ci­ety, Na­tional Honor So­ci­ety, Quill and Scroll, Swim­ming, and Track and Field. Also, Ni­cole has ded­i­cated herself to the com­mu­nity by be­ing ac­tively in­volved in vol­un­teer­ing as a swim coach, tu­tor, and part­ner­ship with busi­ness pro­ject for FBLA. One per­son Ni­cole re­ally ad­mires is her grand­mother, Pa­tri­cia Hipp. Ni­cole states that her grand­mother is wise and com­pas­sion­ate, al­ways seems to have in­sight into how I feel, along with liv­ing a healthy and event­ful life­style, al­ways staying true to herself.

April Stu­dents of the Month

Shawn Bessey Shawn is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Bessey of Blan­don. Shawn will be at­tend­ing Penn State Univer­sity Park to study In­for­ma­tion Sci­ence and Tech­nol­ogy. Shawn has been in­volved in the fol­low­ing clubs at Fleet­wood Area High School: Band, Jazz Band, Wind En­sem­ble, March­ing Band, Cho­rus, Cho­rale, Vo­cal En­sem­ble, Men’s Cho­rus, Ten­nis, Swim­ming, Fu­ture Busi­ness Lead­ers of Amer­ica (FBLA), Na­tional His­tory Club, Drama Club and Pit Orches­tra. Also, Shawn has ded­i­cated him­self to the com­mu­nity by be­ing ac­tively in­volved with his youth group at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Shawn re­ally ad­mires his sis­ter, Katie Bessey. Shawn states that Katie is very mo­ti­vated, works hard for what she wants and doesn’t let neg­a­tiv­ity get to her. Shawn de­clares that he is very proud of what his sis­ter has ac­com­plished in her life so far and is ex­cited to see what the rest of her life has in store for her.

Ali­cia Stitzel Ali­cia is the daugh­ter of Mr. and Mrs. Todd Stitzel of Kutz­town. Ali­cia’s fu­ture plans in­clude at­tend­ing Penn States Univer­sity to ma­jor in Plant Sci­ence. Ali­cia has been in­volved in the fol­low­ing clubs/ac­tiv­i­ties at Fleet­wood Area High School: Stu­dent Coun­cil, Fu­ture Busi­ness Lead­ers of Amer­ica (FBLA), Re­lay for Life, Rho Kappa So­cial Stud­ies Honor So­ci­ety, and Na­tional Honor So­ci­ety. Also, Ali­cia has ded­i­cated herself to the com­mu­nity by be­ing ac­tively in­volved in vol­un­teer­ing for the Miller Key­stone Blood Do­na­tions and var­i­ous church ac-

tiv­i­ties. One per­son Ali­cia re­ally ad­mires is her mother. Ali­cia states that her mother has arthri­tis and con­tin­ues to work

on the farm even with the pain she ex­pe­ri­ences. Ali­cia states that she pushes through ev­ery prob­lem she comes across, never gives up on any­thing, and is al­ways will­ing to help oth­ers even when she doesn’t have the time, she will al­ways make the time.
