March Students of the Month

Ryan Miller

Ryan is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Todd Miller of Blandon. Ryan has signed a letter of acceptance to attend North Carolina Central University on a baseball scholarshi­p. Ryan is involved in the following clubs at Fleetwood Area High School: basketball, baseball and Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society. In addition, he was a member of the 2017 Homecoming Court. Ryan really admires his teacher Mr. Mark Coassolo. Ryan states Mr. Coassolo is an inspiratio­nal teacher and he enjoys every moment in his class.

Nicole Hipp Nicole is the daughter of Elizabeth Tobin-Hipp of Fleetwood and Robert Hipp of Denver. Nicole’s future plans include attending Penn State University and majoring in Political Science with a concentrat­ion in pre-law. Nicole has been involved in the following clubs/activities at Fleetwood Area High School: Student Council, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Yearbook, Book Club, Relay for Life, Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society, National Honor Society, Quill and Scroll, Swimming, and Track and Field. Also, Nicole has dedicated herself to the community by being actively involved in volunteeri­ng as a swim coach, tutor, and partnershi­p with business project for FBLA. One person Nicole really admires is her grandmothe­r, Patricia Hipp. Nicole states that her grandmothe­r is wise and compassion­ate, always seems to have insight into how I feel, along with living a healthy and eventful lifestyle, always staying true to herself.

April Students of the Month

Shawn Bessey Shawn is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Bessey of Blandon. Shawn will be attending Penn State University Park to study Informatio­n Science and Technology. Shawn has been involved in the following clubs at Fleetwood Area High School: Band, Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, Chorus, Chorale, Vocal Ensemble, Men’s Chorus, Tennis, Swimming, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), National History Club, Drama Club and Pit Orchestra. Also, Shawn has dedicated himself to the community by being actively involved with his youth group at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Shawn really admires his sister, Katie Bessey. Shawn states that Katie is very motivated, works hard for what she wants and doesn’t let negativity get to her. Shawn declares that he is very proud of what his sister has accomplish­ed in her life so far and is excited to see what the rest of her life has in store for her.

Alicia Stitzel Alicia is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Todd Stitzel of Kutztown. Alicia’s future plans include attending Penn States University to major in Plant Science. Alicia has been involved in the following clubs/activities at Fleetwood Area High School: Student Council, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Relay for Life, Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society, and National Honor Society. Also, Alicia has dedicated herself to the community by being actively involved in volunteeri­ng for the Miller Keystone Blood Donations and various church ac-

tivities. One person Alicia really admires is her mother. Alicia states that her mother has arthritis and continues to work

on the farm even with the pain she experience­s. Alicia states that she pushes through every problem she comes across, never gives up on anything, and is always willing to help others even when she doesn’t have the time, she will always make the time.
