Elizabeth C. Frederick, formerly of Hamburg
Elizabeth C. (Derstine) Frederick, 84, formerly of Hamburg, PA, peacefully passed away on April 16th at Landis Homes in Lititz, PA. She was born May 5, 1933 in Souderton
PA to the late Elwood and Emaline (Clemens) Derstine. Elizabeth was the beloved wife of the late Ralph Frederick for 59 years, living most of their married lives in Hamburg, PA.
She loved music, playing piano at nearby nursing homes and singing alto to all her favorite hymns. Her artistic and creative gifts found expression in teaching Sunday school and Bible school classes. Elizabeth enjoyed creating festive decorations for family holiday dinners. She produced dramas which included sewing costumes for special events, enjoyed by church and family. Elizabeth was an avid reader who enjoyed traveling.
She was a member of Hope Community Church, Fleetwood, PA.
Elizabeth is survived by: three sons, Steve D. (Glenda) Frederick of New Holland, PA, Dale D. (Catharine) Frederick of Hamburg, PA and Ray D. (Susan) Frederick of Mertztown, PA; a daughter, Julia D. (Clifford) Mease of Quakertown, PA; a brother, Roy (Mary Jane) Derstine of Apple Creek, OH; a sister, Mary Alderfer of Souderton, PA; ten grandchildren, Tanya, Bradley, Sheri, Craig, Josiah, Ryan, Joanna, Brandon, Janelle and Cory; eight greatgrandchildren, Abigail, Caleb, Gabriel, Nicholas, Jocelyn, Jeremy, Hadley and Elinn.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Jennifer Lynn Frederick and Catharine Rose Frederick; two greatgrandsons, Jacob Mease and Luke Mease; one sister, Grace Bechtel; four brothers, Lloyd, Ernest, Elwood Jr. and an infant brother Claude.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, April 29th, 2018 at Hope Community Church, 31 Lobachsville Road, Fleetwood, PA 19522 from 2:00 - 3:30 pm. followed by a funeral service at 3:30 pm.
Burial will take place at Franconia Mennonite Cemetery.
