- By Bill Arsenault

They say that records are made to be broken and senior Abby Lodge is doing just that with New Jersey’s Stockton University.

Lodge, from Douglassville and a Daniel Boone graduate, holds seven school track records – three individually and four with relay teams.

Outdoors, she has the record in the 100-meter dash (12.62) and the 200 dash (26.53) and with the 4x100 and 4x400. Indoors she has the top mark in the 200 meter dash (26.50) and with the 4x200 and 4x400 relays.

Lodge finished first in the 200 in 25.86, third in the 400 meter dash with a personal record time of 59.10 and ran a leg on the 4x100 relay which finished second in 50.29 at the school’s Osprey Open and Multi on April 12 in Pomona, N.J.

“Abby is an amazing young lady who we have been blessed to have as one of our team leaders,” coach Todd Curll said. “She is having a great start to her outdoor season.”

Lodge is currently ranked second in the 200, fifth in the 400 and sixth in the 100 on the New Jersey Athletic Conference performance list.

“We are excited about Abby heading into our conference championship (May 4-5 in Galloway, N.J.),” Curll said. “She is the epitome of a student-athlete holding a 3.93 GPA despite all of her time in track and with her other duties (Student Athlete Advisory Committee and representative of that group in the JCAC). I’m so very proud of all she has done and look forward to seeing what she can accomplish as she finishes her career.”
