Ontelaunee Community Grange hosts Community Night
Ontelaunee Community Grange #1617 recently held its annual Community Night Open House.
Entertainment for the evening was the Reverend Nancy Clark her topic was Humor for the Health of It.
Community Service Committee reported that a $1,500 donation was given to the Schuylkill Valley Community Library towards their building fund and $1,000 to the Hope Rescue Mission towards the addition of a chair lift for their building.
Membership awards were given to members for continuous years of membership to Grange. Those receiving awards were Ruth Rausch, 75 years; Ray Davis, Nettie Kauffman and Ruth Steinhauer, 65 years; Marvin Heck, Frances Merkel and May Blatt, 60 years; Allen Davis and Larry Gelsinger, 55 years; Clyde Kramer, Linda Kramer and Miriam Manwiller, 50 years; Lynn Kauffman, 45 Years; Richard Schanaman, 40 years; Michael Davis, 35 years; Angela Davis, 30 years; Dennis Campbell and Karl Engel, 20 years; Pam
Shealer, 15 years; Richard Henry, Darlene Savage, and Dennis Savage, 10 years.
The Junior Grange presented the Bailey Unterkofler family with a check for $ 8,000 from a Spaghetti Dinner that was held on Feb. 12. Bailey is an 11th grade student who attends Schuylkill Valley High School. Bailey was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma
on Dec. 23, 2021 who is going through chemotherapy and radiation.
The evening ended with door prizes, refreshments and fellowship.
