Birdability — Birding Is for Everybody and Every Body: 7 to 8 p.m. free virtual Hawk Mountain Sanctuary program. Birdability is a new non-profit based in the U.S. with global outreach that strives to ensure the birding community and outdoors are inclusive, safe, and accessible. Road to Recovery Fundraiser to Benefit Todd Gladfelter: 12to 5p.m. at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary Amphitheater. Music, food, and goodwill to support chainsaw carving artist who made the Amphitheater an iconic space. Proceeds support his family with expenses related to the partial paralysis that occurred following a devastating fall in November. This event is ADA accessible.

Hamburg Borough Memorial Day Ceremonies: sponsored by the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Parade lines up at 9a.m. and starts at the war memorial on 2nd and State Street. Ceremony will be at 9:05at the memorial. The second ceremony will be held at Greenwood and St. Mary’s cemetery on North 5th Street at 9:30a.m. The main ceremony will be at St. Johns cemetery veterans plot at 10:15a.m. To participate, call 610-562-2311 between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. In the event of rain, ceremonies will be held at the Union Fire Company Field House on Pine St. at 10a.m.

Kutztown’s 2022 Memorial Day Parade and Ceremonies: Kutztown American Legion Hoch-Balthaser Post 480, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 560and Optimist Club sponsor a parade and ceremonies. Parade begins 8:30a.m. at North Whiteoak Street entrance to Kutztown Fairgrounds, head to West Main, continue to Fairview Cemetery for a ceremony to honor and mourn those U.S military personnel who died while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. Parade then backtracks to Hope Cemetery for another ceremony. Participants include recipient of Americanism Award, Kutztown Middle and High School bands, and Kutztown Pipe Band, as well as Topton’s American Legion Post 217Honor Guard, and Berks County Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 131. All welcome.

Hamburg Public Library Book and Bake Sale: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hamburg Field House. Books, DVDs, audio books and more sorted by category including religion, history, children, non-fiction. Plus, 50-50raffle, homemade pastries for sale, food for sale by Candy’s and Smokin’ Rubs for breakfast and lunch.
