Taste of Hamburg-er Festival set for Sept. 3
Our Town Foundation hosts its annual Taste of Hamburg-er Festival in Downtown Hamburg, rain or shine, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sept. 3. The beer and wine gardens will be open until 7 p.m.
The festival offers a family-fun day celebrating America’s favorite food — the hamburger.
The free admission event features more than 30 burger stands that will compete for the best burger award. There will be four stages of non-stop entertainment, two beer gardens serving beer, wine and cocktails, more than 60 arts and crafts vendors, children’s activities and shopping in Hamburg’s historic downtown. One of the highlights of the festival is the professional burger eating competition.

56th Annual Duryea Day in Boyertown
The Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles, along with the Pottstown Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America, will be hosting the 56th Annual Duryea Day Antique & Classic Car & Truck Show & Flea Market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 3 in the Boyertown Community Park.
For more than 50 years, Duryea Day has earned its reputation as a family-friendly event in Berks County where you will see vehicles of all makes and models. Awards will be presented for the top vehicles.
Duryea Day benefits the Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles and helps the Museum to continue its mission of collecting, preserving, and exhibiting our Pennsylvania transportation heritage. The Boyertown Museum, like Duryea Day, began in 1965 and continues to tell Pennsylvania’s industrial, cultural, and technological history through the lens of road transportation.

Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run of Berks County is gearing up for another season with Fall 2022 program registration now open at GOTR Berks Fall 2022 Program Registration. Offering both Girls on the Run for girls in 3rd5th grades and Heart & Sole for girls in 6th-8th grades, the Fall season starts the week of Sept. 11 and runs through Nov. 19 with the Fall 5K celebration at Penn State Berks.
Currently, there are 15 sites accepting registrations including four sites in Schuylkill County and one community site, the YMCA of Reading who will host a Heart & Sole team on Sundays.
Girls on the Run of Berks serves 3rd-8th grade girls in Berks and Schuylkill counties. All program activities are adaptable for girls who require it, and financial assistance is available so that participants do not miss the social, emotional and physical outcomes of the program. Girls on the Run of Berks is open to all girls.
