Kutztown Fire Company Open House and Mural Dedication Ceremony: 12 to 3 p.m. with dedication held at 1 p.m. Food will be available for purchase from the Kutztown Fire Company Social Quarters, 310Noble St., throughout the event. This event is free and open to the public.

Sept. 17

Fall Native Plant Sale: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Hawk Mountain Sanctuary outside Visitor Center. More than 100species of native trees, vines, wildflower­s, grasses and shrubs including asters, goldenrods, milkweeds, coneflower­s, black-eyed susans. Open to the public. All proceeds benefit Hawk Mountain’s conservati­on and education programs. Visit the lookouts during the daily Autumn Hawk Watch of the raptor migration. Also Monarch Day event features biologist John Drummond talking about monarchs and their conservati­on at the Monarch Conservati­on Station. Learn about Hawk Mountain’s annual butterfly count and monarch migration data. Leave with free milkweed seeds — 5varieties available while supplies last.

Program: Volunteers are needed to tutor 2nd grade students who need extra support with reading at Kutztown Elementary School and Greenwich-Lenhartsvi­lle Elementary School on Thursdays from 3:30to 4:30p.m. during the 2022-2023 school year. No previous teaching experience is required. This opportunit­y is for anyone interested in volunteeri­ng weekly for one hour. Current background clearances are required and training provided. Fundraiser

Beanbag tournament fundraiser: Oct. 9at 11a.m. at Hamburg Fire Company Field House. Two-player teams will compete in a double-eliminatio­n format for cash prizes. Family bike ride: Sept. 17 riders will meet at 9a.m. at the church and travel to the Lititz area for the ride. A time of fellowship will take place after the ride.

Worship: Holy Communion will be celebrated at 10:30a.m. on Sept. 18. Sunday School for all ages begins at 9:15a.m. All are welcome. The worship service will be available in person, Facebook Live, and the church website.
