Iron Kettle Soup Sale: hosted by Hope Lutheran Church with the Kutztown FOE at 550 Fleetwood Road, Bowers. Soups made will be beef vegetable and chicken corn noodle. The cost is $8per quart. Oct. 17 21st annual Safe Berks Silent Witness March and Dedication:

11 a.m. at Safe Berks, 255 Chestnut St., Reading. Silent march 11:15 to 11:45 a.m. to Reading Area Community College’s Schmidt Training & Technology Center. Dedication ceremony noon 12:40 p.m. followed by lunch. Safe Berks honor and remembers Berks County victims of domestic violence homicide for Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Marchers will carry red, life-size silhouette­s that symbolize the victims. Free and open to the public. Berks History Center Road Ramble: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. self-guided driving tour through northern Berks County. This year’s event celebrates renowned Berks County historian Geroge M. Meiser, IX. He co-authored the newspaper series, “The Passing Scene,” with his wife, Gloria Jean. He also served as president of the Berks History Center from 1998until 2011. Starting at Berks History Center, 940 Centre Ave., Reading, tour through Leesport, Hamburg, Lenhartsvi­lle, Virginvill­e, Kempton and concludes at Albany Township Historical Society, where food will be available for purchase. All proceeds benefit Albany Township Historical Society and Berks History Center. Road Ramble tickets $35 per car for Berks History Center members and $45 per car for non-members. Program: Volunteers are needed to tutor 2nd grade students who need extra support with reading at Kutztown Elementary School and GreenwichL­enhartsvil­le Elementary School on Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. during the 2022-2023 school year. No previous teaching experience is required. This opportunit­y is for anyone interested in volunteeri­ng weekly for one hour. Current background clearances are required and training provided.
